Co-Director, Massachusetts Host-Microbiome Center
Associate Pathologist, Brigham & Women's Hospital Center for Advanced Molecular Diagnostics (Department of Pathology)
The objective of the Gerber lab is to create novel computational models and high-throughput experimental systems to understand the role of the microbiota in human diseases, and to apply these findings to develop new diagnostic tests and therapeutic interventions to improve patient care. Recent projects have included the optimization of therapies targeting the microbiota, synthetic biology approaches to engineer bacteriotherapies, and investigtions into the role of the microbiome in infectious and autoimmune diseases.
